Shelly Gardner tiene 57 años y lleva toda su vida subiéndose al escenario como bailarina de un espectáculo de revista. Y aunque en decadencia el espectáculo sigue encendiendo sus luces todas las noches. Hasta que casi de un día para otro el espectáculo echa el cierre.
Una película triste, que nos presenta a una mujer que lo ha dado todo por una carrera en la que creía, que necesitaba y que ahora se acaba. Y se acaba con esa decadencia y paternalismo que ella no entiende. Y eso es lo que más me gusta de esta historia. Mujeres encumbradas para luego mirar hacia otro lado, cuando ellas han estado ahí porque se lo hemos pedido.
Hay reminiscencias de Sean Baker en la película. Interesante también la subtrama con la hija y ese padre que no lo fue. Y además de brillante Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis.
Mucha tristeza y poca esperanza.
